The SBJ Book Society,
Square Books Jr.'s first official book club, is not
your average book club. There are two age divisions
with separate meetings. The Phase I group consists
of ages 8 through 11 (with some exceptions) and meets
the third Friday of every month at Square Books Jr.,
7-8 o'clock P.M. Phase II consists of ages
12 through 15 and meets the first Friday of every
month here at Square Books, Jr., 7-8 o'clock P.M.
Both Phase I and Phase II of the SBJ
Book Society will choose, read, and discuss one
exciting, quality work of fiction every month. We
don't just pick any old book - we compare novels,
new and old, and narrow our selection to the most
intriguing and relevant titles. SBJ members get a
10% discount off the chosen selection. SBJ Book
Society members are encouraged to write book reviews
and post them to the Square Books, Jr. website (publishers
and authors love this). Sometimes SBJ Book Society
has the opportunity to meet and interact with select
authors. We also like to talk about school projects
and other books that members are reading. Granted--sometimes
we get silly and talk about goofy stuff--but we try
to stay focused on the task at hand: literary enjoyment
and enlightenment. If you are interested in joining
